One of the biggest pain points is managing and consolidating financial data from multiple departments. The current software we use for accounting lacks integration capabilities, which causes delays and errors in producing reports.

Many of the people I work with are incredibly withdrawn and introverted, which comes with the territory, but also leads to some headbutting from time to time. For example, our finance director (who is a CPA) had to hold a gentle-parenting style group meeting for 30-40 something year old adults because there were intense verbal arguments about which eProcurement group to go with (we were stuck between Open.Gov and PlanetBids hahaha)

The biggest pain point is clients who procrastinate on giving us information we need and/or not giving us everything that we need in order to help them with preparing their tax return or with bookkeeping.

Clients can be the toughest people to deal with. They expect fast turnaround on our end with little acceptance of responsibility on theirs. From lack of communication to straight up ignoring requests for documentation, it can be a struggle. It clogs up our process and gets other employees behind. We have utilized a new forum that allows for all documentation to be submitted by clients digitally in their own client portal if they feel like it. This has helped.

One of the most significant challenges I face is managing and reconciling client data from multiple sources (e.g., bank statements, payroll systems, and client-provided spreadsheets). It’s time-consuming and causes inconsistencies and delays.

Overall, I hate being micromanaged. I get on my phone for ONE minute and I get complaints that I "use my phone all the time". As long as I get my work done I should not have to worry about this.

We currently store files and do file sharing in too many locations. There are just too many softwares being used as compared to all my previous jobs, which makes it difficult to track down required documents quickly. This results in inefficiency on a daily basis.

My biggest issue is that I rely on clients providing me with their tax paperwork in order to prepare their returns. They often procrastinate or have trouble locating the documents resulting in a backlog of returns that need to be prepared last minute before the due date.

Technology adoption in the accounting sector is still vague. There is a lot of resistance adopting new technologies since most are inaccurate.

None of the systems I've used or are using now, have ever been able to provide me with real-time data. I feel it takes up so much of my time figuring out a current view of client financials. It has hindered me from making important decisions that needed to be made quickly. Goes into time-management issues, I have to put off other projects to dedicate time to this.
