spent searching for or entering data across multiple platforms. This fragmentation makes it harder to get a complete, up-to-date view of a patient’s medical history, treatment plan, and progress, ultimately impacting patient care and increasing the risk of errors.

As a dentist, one of the daily challenges I face is managing the anxiety and discomfort of patients. Despite all the advances in technology and pain management, many patients still come in with a lot of fear about dental procedures. This can make it really difficult to work efficiently and effectively.
I wish there was a way to completely eliminate or at least significantly reduce this anxiety from the start. Whether it's through better communication, advanced sedation options, or innovative techniques that minimize discomfort, finding a solution that helps patients feel more at ease would make the entire process smoother and more pleasant for everyone involved.

There is a constant change and increase in government regulations requiring exorbitant administrative overload and thereby decreasing provider time focusing on the care of patients. At the same time administrative burden is increasing, reimbursement for patient care is decreasing.

I wish I could get rid of my debt! I work hard and have a hard time getting paid on time being an independent contractor. It has made it difficult to save and pay bills on time. Then I have to pay for school out of pocket so I am working to save for work.

The biggest problem we have at our Home Healthcare company is that our marketing strategies to increase our patient census with those who have Medicare Part A & B is aggravating. The refferral programs that hospitals partake in only favor those who show them extra attention by sending over food or doctors that only want certain companies because they have personal relations to them outside of work. Our problem is that we are not getting enough publicity from hospitals and other healthcare organizations to refer their patients to us.

The biggest pain point is making sure we have correct insurance information and verify that so we have all the needed approvals and know how much to collect from the patient.

Patient scheduling is often inaccurate i.e. patient's given a different day and time than what is on my schedule. This leads to longer wait times for patients. This also leads to mistakes in my reports, as I feel rushed to finish them quickly in order to take the next patient.
In addition, the physician I work for insists on still using paper charts. This is a huge waste of paper, and leads to inconsistencies in charting. For example, post-it notes with pertinent information getting lost, or notes not being dated.

The biggest pain point that I face daily are training staff for our new AI software. There are many team members that struggle with learning basic functions and this leads to delays.

Physical therapist; small business owner
I specifically am a physical therapist for animals. The most common issue we deal with is lack of education/awareness that our field/specialty area exists, therefore we're constantly having to justify what it is that we do to owners and veterinarians. Because of this, we unfortunately do not get as many referrals as we would if I were to be a human PT.

In regards to billing insurance for healthcare. Under the current Medicaid billing system, we are not allowed to charge a fee when a patient with Medicaid no shows, cancels, or reschedules their appointment. Pair that with an average 50% no show rate for patients with Medicaid and that adds up to us losing a lot of revenue per provider.

Reimbursement rates are for untimed codes, which puts pressure on us to provide services in less than 30 minutes.

Charting is always my pain point. I wish that there were better charting softwares designed around acupuncture professionals so that I could chart more efficiently and effectively. Especially for notating acupuncture points used in session.
My other complaint is the struggle for getting paid for acupuncture via insurance. It always feels like a battle and justification for care. I don’t think this is unique to acupuncture, but it really feels like insurance works in every way AGAINST people, both providers and clients.

I wish we can make it easier for old aged patients to be able to access certain sites without it being too complicated for them.

Speech Therapist
As a former school speech therapist, I find Epic more user-friendly than other programs. Our outdated Medicaid billing and progress monitoring systems cause double documentation, affecting many therapists and social workers. We need: 1. A system combining progress monitoring and Medicaid billing. 2. Automatic import of progress into IEPs. 3. Automated reminders and email updates for parents.

I'm officially done with the AMA. We have major problems in medicine today, private equity buying up health groups and pillaging them, abusive working conditions for residents while mid-levels with online degrees make twice their salary, and increasing corporatization reducing physician autonomy. But what does the AMA focus on? An article titled "How the Use of BMI Fetishizes White Embodiment and Racializes Fat Phobia." These are not serious people. I'm not giving them another cent. Someone needs to start an organization that actually addresses patient care and macro-level healthcare problems.

Why is EHR software so bad? Every time I interact with EHR systems during my rotations, I'm baffled by how clunky and unintuitive they are. It feels like these systems were designed in the 90s and never updated. EHRs seem to make our jobs harder instead of easier, taking away from patient care as we wrestle with outdated software. The interoperability issues are the worst, it's 2024, and we’re still faxing documents because different systems can't communicate seamlessly. Is it the vendors, the hospitals, or the regulations causing this mess? I'd love to hear insights or horror stories from those who've dealt with this longer. Maybe even some success stories if they exist!

There is no easy way to compare pricing for healthcare equipment of any kind. If you want to compare you need to go on each site and check for yourself. I wish there was a way for it all to be in one place.

There is no easy way to find contacts, it’s all through friends or chats, if there was a system that had everything from vendors, recruiters, staffing agencies, etc. That would make the whole process a lot more seamless.

This cyberattack disrupting insurance processing at pharmacies is causing chaos for healthcare businesses. Patients are being forced to pay out of pocket for critical care because insurance claims aren't going through. It's not just affecting one pharmacy, it's a widespread issue impacting multiple states. How can I ensure patient care isn't compromised while dealing with cyber threats?
